Maureen St. Clair is local artist and peace educator. Maureen paints inspirational paintings that provoke feelings of hope and empowerment. Living and working in Grenada for the past 15 years inspired Maureen’s present path painting celebratory paintings and coordinating/facilitating various community based development programs. Presently Maureen is working with community youth development programs in her community and local schools. As an artist and peace educator Maureen is interested in art a s a catalyst for social and personal change. The main objective of peace programs is to build environments where kids feel safe, respected and valued while engaged in creative activities. The programs provide children and youths an opportunity to discover and exercise their inherent talents and potential through various expressions of art such as spoken word poetry, drum, dance, story telling and visual arts.
Maureen and the recently formed community based group, the Harford Village Peace Workers are seeking assistance with running the various children and youth programs. The group is in need of art supplies such as paper, crayons, markers, scissors, glue sticks, construction paper, pencils, and any other creative supplies that will assist the various components of the programs. Any form of contribution would be of great value!
You can also support peace programs by purchasing a piece of Maureen’s art! A percentage of art sales is donated to community youth programs. Check out Maureen’s website: www.maureenstclair.com
