If anyone in the Caribbean hasn't heard by now that we had a strong earthquake, then they were asleep.
Driving home this afternoon, i was stuck in the usual traffic jam at the Lagoon junction when i realized that the jeep was shaking a little more than normal.

Of course, the first thought which goes through my head is that the suspension probably needs checking, after all, Scooby is a little long in the tooth now (12 years old). Just about then i glanced up and noticed that the telephone poles and wires were shaking....O.K! Must be an earthquake!...or at least a strong tremor.

Right about then i also noticed that all the employees in the buildings along the roadside were running outside. Had to get on the phone and see if Moni felt anything (she didn't notice the last one we had). She was already outside watching the house dance.
Our place is partially suspended on pillars, like most homes in the island (one of the drawbacks of living on an island with lots of hills), so the house tends to move a bit when there is a tremor. This was the strongest we have ever felt, so you can imagine what was happening!

Luckily, there was no damage we could find, but we had heard that some homes in a couple of the other islands had structural damage. Heard in the news that there were no damages to speak of, just a few people panicking (can't blame them).

Know what they say about animals sensing when there is an earthquake about to happen? Well, i don't think our dogs heard about that.
