Grenada has many "small" bars where you can relax and indulge
in your favourite drink. We chose our top 5 based on atmosphere, a relaxed dress code, where
you can get together with friends, meet new ones or simply relax and enjoy each others company.
very informal and simple, directly on Grand Anse beach and a place where just about everyone seems to gather (locals & Tourists), especially on weekends. Drinks are reasonable and, most importantly, cold! If you would like to wiggle your toes in the sand while watching the sun go down with your favourite drink in hand, like we do occasionally, then you will understand why this would be number 1 on our list. There is a large flat screen tv to keep fans updated on the latest sports, and the seating is durable, rather than stylish, but that is entirely the point.
You can walk in there directly off the beach and not have to worry about finding your shoes, grabbing a towel or putting on a t-shirt. It's a 'beach' bar.
Very relaxed, and the perfect place to just hang around and enjoy a cold beer.
You will find a nice mix of people.
The bar itself has colourful and sturdy hand made furniture, but the most
endearing thing about the place is the rustic feel you get from the roughly finished wood that was used in its construction. Its the sort of place where you are not afraid to spill your drink, and you feel right at home.
This bar is at the True Blue Bay Resort. Right on the water's edge, cool breezes and just about any drink you can imagine. The cocktails are the main reason to visit, but don't worry, the basics are well covered.
After a hot day, relaxing here with breeze coming off of the sea makes it all worthwhile.
The bar is decorated with a yachting theme, with comfortable furniture set on a deck to take full advantage of the breezes. The roofing looks like the sail from a yacht, and coupled with the breeze from the sea, keeps the nautical theme.
Not only is the Aquarium on our top 10 list of best places to eat, it also has one of the nicer beach bars around.
The entire place is built to give a warm tropical feel, with palm trees and wooden floors. This is what goes a long way to making it one of the more popular places to hang out, especially on weekends.
The beach bar is only a couple of yards from the waters edge, convenient when you don’t wish to cross acres of hot sand to get something to drink.
Not what you would have expected, but the club has a decent, if unremarkable, bar. What gets this place on our list is the large sitting area overlooking the lagoon. Its great for just hanging out and watching the boats, especially around sunset and twilight. The breeze off of the lagoon always keep this place cool, and you can watch the light slowly wink on as it gets darker.
Not the most stylish of places, just comfortable seating where you can take advantage of the view, and a large bar. There is also a t.v giving the latest cricket scores and a pool table. Shorts and shoes and a t-shirt are a
must, as bare feet and going topless is not appreciated.
These are just a few, so don't let that stop you from finding your own. There are many other places which we have not mentioned, like Owl Bar, Gem Beach Bar, Tropicana, Le Phare Bleu, Port Louis and the Nutmeg, to name a few.
Half the fun is in exploring ;-) After this, we'll be posting our top 5 choices for where to eat.

Oh yes, I can vouch for 3 of those bars! Garfield's cannot be missed if you spend any time on Grand Anse. How can one resist a rum punch in your swim suit looking out at the gorgeous white sand and sea! I went there nearly every day on my 2 week vacation. Stopped along for a rum punch while walking down the beach and another on the way back! perfect!
The Horni Baboon is fun and interesting and has food unlike Garfield's. It's a fun night spot too.
The Aquarium is upscale comfort while drinking at a bar. Beautiful setting and fantastic for reggae and lobster on Sundays.
I'll have to try the others on my next trip!
