Dr. Groom's Beach Resort

A couple of months ago, we had heard that the Grooms Beach Villa & Resort had finally opened for business. We had seen the construction, but had not had a good nose around to see how things were progressing.

Anyway, we got the chance to visit the place yesterday.

The place is slightly off the beaten track and just a short 5 minute walk to two beaches, Groom's beach and one by the Beachhouse restaurant (sorry, can't remember its name at the moment).

Our first impression on going in was how quiet it was. There are no traffic noises, as it is in a residential area and it is sufficiently set back from the beaches that you do not hear the surf.

The staff were exceeding helpful and we got a tour of the place...took some photos as well ;-)

To say we were pleasantly surprised, is an understatement.

We were expecting the usual generic hotel rooms, but they were more along the lines of apartments...yes, i should have clued to the name which had 'Villa & Resort' in it.

Anyway, they were nicely decorated with a Caribbean flair, with bedrooms upstairs in the bigger villas, and a well laid out kitchen (Moni noticed the complimentary coffee immediately!)

There is a nice comfortable seating area on the outside as well.

The place has all the amenities, including a laundry, restaurant, pool and bar. There is also a free airport shuttle available.

It is cosy and intimate and from our point of view, very relaxing.

If you are looking for something better than a regular hotel, but not as crowded, where you can just relax and unwind, then this is a good choice.

The only downside is that you are not directly on the beach, but 5 minutes walk away from a good restaurant and a choice of two beaches which you will have almost to yourself, is nothing to sneeze at!

The rates are affordable off season starts at US$130 a day

Grooms villa was an exciting place ,to see the pool, sea view , large bed and even the horses near by , great chef service and tour guide..Great car rental service and tasty food . fabulous i enjoyed my stay

i heard persons speaking of this place and i believe i will visit someday because its a kind of hide away and a lovely place indeed. keep up the good works employees and owner, smart choice.
