Our website is not just another travel guide for Grenada. It is much much
more. Grenada is our home, and on this site you will get to see some of the 'real'
Grenada. Here you will see a selection of things we like to do, places we visit and
events which we have gone to, which we have written about in our blog. It is
NOT paid advertisement.
We are giving you our perspective on what its like to live and work here in the Spice Isle.
Get to know what the 'Real' Grenada is like, not the fictional one you may see in travel magazines.
On our site, you will not find anything about religion or politics - just lots of tips on things to do, photos of events, tips on places to visit and sights you would not want to miss on a visit here. Some of the best places (we think) to eat, tours you should not miss and events that should be on everyone's 'to do' list. All the information you may need to plan a memorable vacation on our island, you can also visit our website Grenada Explorer 'Travel Guide". Still in doubt? Check out our live webcams!

A small insight into who "we" are, for people how don't know us yet :).
Originally from Germany, i moved here in '92 and met 'Neil', my husband and partner on this Blog. Worked in the Tourism Industry for a couple of years and started to develop our Grenada Explorer website when i saw that there was no comprehensive source of information for visitors to Grenada. I have seen many expats come and go over the years, and i see things a lot different from 'newcomers' to the island, but i'm sure you will find that out soon enough on our Blog entries.
Love Hashing (check out grenadahash.com for more about it) and hiking, exploring the island, trying out the tours, restaurants, and visiting the many beaches around the island.
I'm Grenadian, and Moni's partner and fellow hasher.
Growing up here, your point of view and pace of live is markedly different from what you would expect if you come from a more developed country. The way things are done can make most visitors throw up their hands in frustration and want to run around screaming….. some do.
Between the two of us, you should get a more or less balanced view of life here….sort of ;-)
There is just no time to be bored here… too much to do and see.
Hope you all will enjoy our "Grenada Blog"

Hi there - ten years ago I (German) visited Grenada with my 5 year old daughter, because it was such a safe country: no poisonous animals, a good hospital and low criminal statistics. And we loved it! When I needed a rest from reading fairytailes for her, I had her hunt crabs on the beach...Since then I have dreamt of coming back, but I had not yet the chance (single mum...).

Hi
My name is Lina and I am from Greece.
I have see some photos from Grenada before 2 years and since then I always trying to find and learn more about.I believe that day by day I fall in love the place.
Soon I am planning to visit and see the true way of living there. In my imagination is like a paradise and the place that i always be there !!!(crazy but true).
Is it easy to find the culture of Grenada only in one visit? And If I deside to live there is it easy to do it?

1ST TIME VISITOR
Hello all. I am visiting Grenada for the 1st time on November 8th. I keep reading weather reports about rain but when I look at the webcam it looks beautiful. I guess the rain doesn't last long. Everything that I have read makes me believe that this will be a wonderful trip!
....
I am a grenadian who has been living in Canada since 69 , I have visited home numerous times . My last visit was in 97,so as you see im well over due. I moved from Toronto to Langley B.C. in 92,Vancouver is visualy simular to Grenada in geography because theres mountains on the right and ocean on the left, yes im from the west side ,Grand Roy,but nothing ive seen or experienced in Canada compares to what my parents took me away from. So on thst note, what im really trying to say is, dont take it for granted, your in paradise ,soke it up and enjoy every second you spend there. Yours truly ,John Oswald Joseph Robertson

Hello Monja and Neil,
my first post ever, anywhere! The motivation to join this forum is twofold. First to thank you both for taking the time to set it all up. Can't be easy to work on this when there's so many beautiful distractions around you. The second is that my husband and I will be moving to Carriacou in the not too distant future and have been logging on as 'guests' for a while now. Seemed like it was time to join up and join in. We will be on island in December, hoping to talk to a few builders about getting some foundations started for our house. This has been a dream for many years, now it's nearly reality we're both pretty nervous as this is a venture that neither of us have ever experienced.
Your webcam makes us all the more determinded to make the move, thanks for keeping it running.

GRENADIAN WANNABEES

As you know I don't post very often on the Travel Forum because I do not know much about the tourist spots.
It has been a delight to get to know the two of you, though the beginning of our friendship right after Ivan was a trying time for Grenada.
Soon we will end a 3 year period of very little time in Grenada and will have our own house back again.
When I think about Grenada I think about a wonderfully small island nation that I will cherish spending most of my days in. A place that does not export war, and where most people are good to one another because if they are not then someone may tell their mother and then there would be hell to pay.
I have had to learn a great deal about patience as we have rebuilt a house before Ivan with our own hands and labor and then almost immediately started over after Ivan this time using various contractors. One of the things I have come to understand is that as long as it may take situations will work out well in the end.
After Ivan as I read news reports I decided again that I love Grenada and the size of life there. One of the things that pointed this out to me was a major headline telling of the distribution of 28 bred goats to various farmers and the long term benefits to many more people after 5 generations of growth. Any nation where 28 goats are a great positive factor is the size that I think will suit me.
So I don't know much about the tourist spots but have gotten to know about hardware stores, lumber yards, the local market and fish market. I have also developed some very good friendships that I am sure will last my life time.
I'm glad you started this blog Monja. I will be very interested to see how it developes.
