This is a great place to stop off for a while, if you are up in the northern part of the island, whether on an island tour or just out for a drive.
To drive there from St. Georges takes about an hour.

It's one of those places we find that has a laid back, relaxing atmosphere, and you might even catch yourself nodding off because of the constant cool breeze off the sea and while listening to the waves pound the shore just yards from where you are sitting.

When you get there, your first impression is that it is just another run down shack, but first impressions can be very misleading and it is the type of place that has to be experienced to be appreciated.

Located alongside the mouth of the river, just yards away from the shore, it's where you will find yourself just looking for an excuse to linger.

Its nice and quiet, and the constant breezes off the sea keep you cool. I guess its this and the sound of the surf that help make it such a relaxing place, but it is the view off the balcony which just grabs and holds your attention. The place has a rustic look which just adds to its atmosphere and charm, but its the location which tops it all. When you walk in the door, you can see that the owner has used a lot of natural materials in the building and furnishings… which explains the rustic look.
Regardless of the 'style' of the building, he has succeeded in creating a place which you find makes you comfortable from the time you enter the door. There is even a fishpond inside, but the place you tend to gravitate to is the bar. To the right of the entrance are the stairs leading to the balcony, and once you get some refreshment, this is one of the best places to relax and enjoy the view.

However, there are benches in the front yard close to the river, and you can kick off your shoes and relax there as well.

If you would like to have a meal, it is best to call ahead, otherwise it can take about 20 minutes. We heard that the food is good, but didn't have a chance to try it ourselves as yet. - However, several people have told us it is really good and we know the drinks are good and cold…

They're closed on Mondays, but for the rest of the time, open at 10am until.
The menu includes Lambi and lobster (in season), chicken, fish.
To make a reservation , you need to call 437 food (3663)…..somehow that seems appropriate.

The Estuary Restaurant and Bar is located near the old Pearls Airport, just north of Grenville. In fact, you take the old airport road and look for the sign and turnoff on to a dirt road on your right, just past the old playing field. At the end of this road is where you will find it.

Driving around on a Sunday afternoon, we found that it was a great place to stop off and just relax.
